6 Questions You Should Be Asking Your Cosmetic Injector

Did you know there are 43 muscles in your face and while Cosmetic Injections may seem like a simple procedure, it’s just a few shots, right? It’s both an art and science that only an experienced healthcare professional should perform. We thought we’d breakdown some of the most common questions we get asked as well as 6 questions you should be asking when selecting your injector!

How long does it take?

Injectable treatments usually take around 15 minutes and, in most cases, you can certainly be in and out in your lunch break. The number of injections you need will greatly depend on your facial features, the type of treatment and the area being treated. Crow’s feet, for example, usually require two to three injections. Furrows above your brow or lip injections could take five or more.

So, what happens during treatment?

A very thin needle is used to inject small amounts of product into very specific and targeted areas of your face to achieve optimal results for your treatment plan. Your goals and treatment plan should be discussed before commencing treatment, giving you ample opportunity to ask any questions and ensure you understand any possible risks and feel confident in the outcomes or results that will be achieved.

Here’s six questions we recommend you ask when booking your cosmetic injector.

  • Am I a good candidate for this treatment?
  • What will be expected of me to get the best results?
  • Who will perform my injections, and have they been specifically trained in this procedure?
  • How long of a recovery period can I expect?
  • What are the risks and possible complications associated with my procedure?
  • Do you have before-and-after photos I can look at for this procedure?

What can you expect after treatment?

Cosmetic Injectable treatments like filler and muscle relaxants have quickly grown in popularity in recent years due to their minimal downtime and fast results. Following your treatment, we usually recommend that patients avoid exercise for 24 hours and remain upright for the remainder of the day. Depending on the type and location of your treatment, you may experience some discomfort during or after the injections, bruising and swelling. We generally advise my patients not to schedule their procedure before a big social event just in case they do experience some swelling and bruising.

How much will my treatment cost?

This one is always difficult to answer without first see you for an initial consult (those are free by the way!) Once we can assess the treatment area and formulate a plan for you, we will be able to provide you with an accurate quote. Though we can say we have ZIP pay and Afterpay available in the clinic to make treatment available for everyone. If we had to give a rough estimate, we would say treatment starts from around $499 for injectables.

Have a question we haven’t answered? Why not get in touch and Karen, Liana or one of the team will be able to help.

Maybe we’ll even feature it as our next blog! You can ask them here.
